Process Technician / Shift Supervisor

QFC Plastics is immediately searching for Process Technicians / Shift Supervisors. The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, outgoing individual with strong leadership skills and abilities. Experience must include extensive injection molding processing experience using a vast array of materials and operating both large and small tonnage presses.  We run 3 shifts 24 hours per day Monday – Friday.  This position reports to the Plant Manager.  

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, direct, and assign production employees according to schedule
  • Prepare and set up tools, machines, and/or auxiliary equipment to QFC standards
  • Set up and adjust injection molding processes to ensure product quality
  • Proactively take steps to improve production efficiency and reduce scrap
  • Maintain equipment as required
  • Train production personnel in areas of production processes and safety
  • Work with engineering and quality control to continuously improve products and processes
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment
  • Knowledge of a wide array of materials
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to follow written work instructions and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of processing experience in an injection molding plant
  • Formal training in scientific molding principles, RJG or other
  • Knowledge of and implementation experience with Lean manufacturing philosophy
  • Experience with molding for medical and automotive industries
  • Experience with robotics

Machine Operator

We are immediately searching for 30 Machine Operators. If you have an eye for detail and a desire to work, we are adding on to our large family and want you to be a part of it. This is a full-time position with health benefits offered after 90 days of employment and 1 week of vacation in your first year. There are two paid 15 minute breaks daily and a 30 minute lunch. We have a large employee break room with televisions, vending, refrigerators and microwaves.

Starting pay for this position is $8.00 per hour. We provide full training over work safety, the injection molding process, molded part defects and company procedures. Training is available in Spanish and in English.

Our machine operators are the backbone of our company; they work directly at molding press workstations during part production where they separate good parts from bad parts, and also pack the parts that we ship directly to our many customers. 

We run 3 shifts 24 hours per day Monday -- Friday. Positions offered are first come / first served in relation to shift preference.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to retrieve parts from molding presses (some bending and lifting required)
  • Ability to follow written work instructions and procedures 
  • Ability to discriminate between acceptable parts and rejects 
  • Ability to record information about reject quantities as necessary

Our manufacturing facility is climate controlled and located right across from the Arlington Highlands area.
